About the Game
Musketeer Slot’s audio is a perfect introduction to this pay by mobile casino game. Opening to a driving, urgent score, it successfully brings to mind a dashing musketeer galloping through a forest on horseback.
However, it must be noted that the next thing you’ll notice, the background, is rather uninspired, a poorly framed image that is largely sky around the edges of the Gameboard. It feels like the board obscures the real focus of the image, likely a castle, meaning the choice of background may as well be a block colour for all the effect it has.
Luckily, the design of the Gameboard more than makes up for it. Ornately designed, the board is textured and coloured in gunmetal grey with a perfect rectangle of pattern purple fabric for the reels to land on.
Musically, the ambiance, so forceful in the introduction, settles for the main game. Tense music still permeates but ambient sounds are present as well; birds chirping from woodland glades while horses whinny and bray while trotting through fallen leaves.
The Gameboard, a 5-reel, 3-row affair, features 5 gilded playing card symbols as its low-value symbols: a 10 of diamonds, Jack of clubs, Queen of spades, King of hearts and an A for Ace, the letter neatly finished with a musket.
A crossbow and musket are included as mid-tier values but interest is reserved for the high-value symbols, naturally the Three Musketeers. Suave and dashing with their finely-twizzled moustaches, jauntily-angled hats and chiselled good looks, Athos, Porthos and Aramis look perfect in the game.
WILDS take the form of a castle, replacing any standard symbol and randomly stacking to fill a full reel. SCATTER symbols are depicted by a masked seductress and award between 10 and 20 free spins when you spin 3 or more.

The Verdict
With a jackpot of 5000 credits, this isn’t one of the most generous slots online but its symbol design is richly detailed, and it plays well.
